New opportunity to join Royal Opera House Thurrock’s youth singing group

Royal Opera House Thurrock RM19 Youth Singing Group Needs New Voices

Free taster session: Saturday 20 April from 2.45 – 5pm

At the East Barn, High House Production Park, Purfleet

RM19, the Royal Opera House Education in Thurrock’s Youth Singing Group is looking for new members.

Young people from across Thurrock aged between 11-25 years old who love music and have a passion for singing can join the group and learn a wide variety of different musical styles.

RM19 performs a dynamic and diverse repertory of songs. The members of the group offer ideas and suggestions of interesting and exciting combinations to work on, they have input on choreography and appearance, and decide where to perform. Its aim is to create new fusions of music by mashing Kanye West with opera, giving Taylor Swift a classical twist or perhaps adding a hint of beatbox to Mozart.

Young singers who want to find out more about the new group and try out their voices can join a taster session t on Saturday 20 April. The free taster session is open to all young people across Thurrock, with no experience of singing or performing necessary. All that is needed is enthusiasm, a willingness to take part and a love for all kinds of music.

The free taster session takes place at the East Barn on the High House Production Park in Purfleet on Saturday 20 April, starting at 2.45pm. For more information or to register for the session, please email getinvolved@roh.org.uk or call 01708 891200.

Registering for the session is essential. Anyone unable to attend the taster session but interested in joining the group and attending the regular rehearsals should register at getinvolved@roh.org.uk
