THE CREATIVE AND Cultural Skills are relocating their headquarters to The Backstage Centre at High House Production Park in Purfleet from 8 May 2013.
Officially opened by Jools Holland in March 2013, The Backstage Centre is a purpose-built technical space built with the support and advice of industry professionals.
In a statement on their website the cultural skills centre said: “Moving our staff team to the Backstage Centre will enable us to increase our direct contact with the young people, industry professionals and the creative industries that as a charity we seek to benefit.
“We feel incredibly lucky to be able to give our staff direct access to the employers and students who use The Backstage Centre.
Our new home will situate us at the heart of skills exchange projects happening every day, alongside our partners at High House Production Park, including the Royal Opera House, Thurrock Council and ACME Studios.
Pauline Tambling, Joint CEO, Creative & Cultural Skills, said,
“We are very proud of our new building in Purfleet which is already proving to be an excellent resource for our sector. By moving our staff team out of London we will be able to ensure that we maximise our engagement with students and creative organisations in Thurrock as well as providing a national headquarters for our wider programme across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.”
Andrea Stark, Chief Executive, High House Production Park said:
“We are delighted to have the UK headquarters of Creative & Cultural Skills located in Thurrock. They are a key partner in our plans to grow world-class creative industries that inspire a new generation.”
