J. Murphy & Sons Limited will be closing the Southend bound off-sliproad at Stanford-le-Hope overnight on Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15 for main installation works.
Road users will be diverted via the main carriageway to the Five Bells Junction, before returning down the London-bound A13 carriageway.
As of 5am on Saturday, May 18, the North Bridge, Basildon side, will be closed to traffic and will be reopened at 5am on Monday 20th May. The weekend closure will be in place to allow work to be carried out on the bridge.
The A13 will remain open underneath the bridge but only one lane may be open.
Closure of the Southend bound on-slip will follow on May 20 for four weeks. Drivers will be diverted via the Orsett Cock junction and return via the Southend-bound A13 carriageway.
Diversion routes have been approved by Thurrock Council, and are designed to provide a safe alternative road, capable of handling an equivalent or higher level of road traffic.
The works are being undertaken to increase the capacity of the A13/A1014 junction by widening it from the current two lanes to three lanes.
Road users are reminded to subscribe to the email alerts system on www.a13roadworks.co.uk, which will provide advanced warning of roadworks.
