THURROCK’S MEP, Richard Howitt has criticised South Basildon and East Thurrock MP, Stephen Metcalfe after the MP joined 113 other Tores in voting to regret the absence of an in-out referendum bill in the Queen’s speech.
Mr Howitt said: “David Amess, MP for Southend West; John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay; James Duddridge, MP for Rochford & Southend East; Robert Halfon, MP for Harlow; Bernard Jenkin, MP for Harwich & Essex North; Stephen Metcalfe, MP for Basildon South & Thurrock East; Priti Patel, MP for Witham and John Whittingdale, MP for Maldon went against their own Government on their Queen’s Speech.
Labour’s Essex Euro MP Richard Howitt added:
“This is a display of unbelievable disloyalty and a further big blow to David Cameron’s authority.
“The vote of no confidence in their leader shows Tory MPs out-of-touch and a Tory Prime Minister out-of-control.”
Considering Labour are now losing safe Labour seats in weekly council by-elections to UKIP how soon until we see Labour running around like headless chickens?
They’re already doing that. Does anyone seriously believe that mandelson’s intervention on immigration during the week wasn’t aimed at ending Milibrains Blue Labour policies. The Labour party are in revolt. The Tories are in revolt. We are witnessing a turning point in politics in this country.
Welfare is out of control. Immigration is out of control. The ECHR are out of control. The party that deals with those three issues will win the next general election. Also raise the minimum wage to £8 an hour. The economy needs rebalancing. Bulid houses.
Make peole feel better on these issues and gay marriage laws won’t be a problem, environmental issues will get a nod of approval. Europe isn’t a problem apart from free movement of Labour and the ECHR. 90% of the population don’t know how much money is paid to Europe and have no interest in fisheries or agricultural policies. Howitt is a Euro tart tucking his ill gotten gains into the top of his stockings.
Richard Howitt is right to worry that all those Tories voted for it. Because come next election UKIP will win in the EU elections and Richard Howitt will be on the dole.
Well done Stephen Metcalfe for voting for this I doubt UKIP will need to stand against you.
