THURROCK Sea Cadets entered a national 24-hour sailing regatta on the 4th and 5th of May at Welsh Harp Reservoir in North West London.
A team of six cadets took it in turns to sail only coming ashore to eat one hot meal and use facilities.
The boat used was 3.5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide the team had to sail a set the course. Once dark, lit up buoys showed the teams which way to go.
The team lead for most of the event but were overtaking in the closing stages to finished second overall.
Well done to the six cadet and adult staff that accompanied them.
