Get on your bike for the Thurrock Cycle Marathon

FEELING inspired by the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendeish?

If so, the Rotary Club of Mardyke Valley is hosting the annual Thurrock Cycle Marathon with the aim of raising money for local charities.

The event will take place on Sunday, 9 June 2013, starting 9am at Blackshots Leisure Centre in Grays.

As usual, there will be sponsored rides of seven, 12 or 41 miles with trophies for individuals and teams raising the most sponsorship.

Last year over 300 riders took part in the event which raised £16,000.

Medals will be awarded to the first 500 cyclists who complete the course and there will be a free prize draw to win a bike supplied by Decathlon.

There will be a number of refreshment stops along the route with full support facilities and emergency help.

All riders are advised to wear cycle helmets and appropriate clothing.

Entry costs for adults are £5.00 and under 16’s can enter for free but must be accompanied by an adult. Entries can be pre-paid by visiting Daybreak Windows or people can enter and pay on the day.
