SCHOOL-RUN mums are forced to push their buggies in the road as a massive hole continues to spread in Herd Lane, Corringham.
A small hole appeared a few weeks ago and slowly but surely, according to parents it has got bigger and bigger.
Mother-of-two, Joanne Smith told YT: “It was just a small hole a few weeks ago but it has grown and grown to such an extent that I have to push my buggy into the road.
“And that can be dangerous when so many cars are outside the school at the end of the school day.”
Joanne and a number of parents have contacted the council and submitted a complaint on-line.
A council spokesperson has pledged that they are looking into it. He said:
“This has been referred to Anglian Water as it is believed to be associated with the adjacent sewer.
“The matter is still under investigation to establish the cause and further works will be undertaken during the next two weeks.”
YT will report back in a weeks time to see if the work has been done (June 12th).
having made several call about this hole have found out that case was closed even though complaints was still coming in and then re-opened but no one has been bothered to leave there office and do site visit or follow up let alone bother to return call as promised i bet if this was out side there children’s school or home it would have bean deal with
today there was sign posted saying
the council have informed the school that the hole is not a simple problem to solve but a a special engineer will need to be involved
the eng will visit on fri the 7th June when an appropriate corset of auction will be determined
so why has it taken this long to get this done and why once again has no one from council paid site visit befo now 7 weeks plus put little ones at risk
would not mind the council are always on at hospital for not getting things right but they can not even get there own house in order this is tip of ice burg with there bad management
