Chafford man in court over multi-million pound fraud

A CHAFFORD HUNDRED man stands accused of passing on information that was used to try and withdraw millions of pounds from the RBS reports the Daily Telegraph.

Derek Annan, 24, from Chafford Hundred faces 11 charges of fraud by abuse of position relating to a missing £135,000 from 11 separate accounts.

Prosecutors are considering bringing 22 further charges relating to attempts to withdraw £2.6 million.

He was working at branches in Colchester and Chelmsford, Essex, between January and May 2011, when the fraud is alleged to have taken place.

  1. There used to be jokes about areas of Thurrock on things like if you parked your car it would be on bricks when you got back to it. Chafford seems to be turning into a place where if you stood still too long you’d be stripped bare, you’re identity would be cloned, you’re bank accounts emptied. The only thing you would have left is the fortune from a Nigerian general looking to invest his money.
