THE GOOD PEOPLE OF Stanford and Corringham have rallied round to help the families who were made homeless following a fire.
The two families lost their home after fire swept through the two properties in Langland Place on Sunday night.
Community champion, Mandie Groves has kept people informed through the Stanford and Corringham page on facebook.
Mandie said: “They have received all of the items left today at the Gateway Peoples Centre in Stanford. The residents say thank you to everyone who dropped in there, and also the blackberry charger too, thanks to Francesca Alessandra Douglas .
“They have been in tears all day and are clearly in shock. They were so touched by the kindness shown and said they have never known community spirit like it.
“They currently DO NOT NEED any furniture until they are rehomed. I will post more details in the future if the needs arise.
Small items may be taken into Jacqui Trott at the fab Gateway Peoples Centre, High Street Stanford-le-Hope. Monday to Thursday 9am till 2pm and left there.
Comfortable clothing suitable for sizes 10-12 and shoes sizes 5 are required too. Toiletries / towels / small gifts are all welcome too.
The family who live underneath the burnt out flat have been offered free decorating by fellow SS17’ers Vruti Patel and others and I believe B&Q are donating the materials thanks Isabella Gorham .
