POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed as she left the post office this morning.
The 44-year-old victim came out of the post office in Dock Road, Little Thurrock, at 10.10am today when she was assaulted and had her bag stolen.
Investigating officer, Dc Clive Day said: “The attacker pushed the woman which caused her to fall against a wall and scratch her face. The woman fell to the ground and her attacker grabbed her bag.”
The woman suffered minor injuries but did not require an ambulance.
The robber took her black nylon handbag with shoulder straps and ran off along an alleyway linking Clarkbourne Drive and Church Street.
Some of the contents of the bag was found discarded in the alleyway.
Dc Day added: “We would like to hear from any members of the public who may have seen a male acting suspiciously in this area at the time of the attack, or who may have seen the attack itself.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Dc Day or Dc Steve Smith, or their colleagues at Grays CID, on 101.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Little Thurrock has a very good Crime record but occasionally incidents happen. My sympathies with the victim of the crime. If anyone has seen anything or has CCTV footage please supply to the Police asap.
