THURROCK Council, Bizphit and the Essex Chambers of Commerce have teamed up to help local business and boost the local economy.
Big organisations with local connections such as AMEC, Carillion, GR Carr, MITIE, Morgan Sindall, National Express, New Holland, Port of Tilbury and South Essex College are looking for suppliers of goods and services.
They will be among 15 or more firms at Orsett Hall Hotel on 12 September for the second Meet The Buyer event where smaller Thurrock firms are being invited to come along and see if they can do business with them.
Around 160 Thurrock businesses are expected to attend and Thurrock Council Leader, Cllr John Kent said: “I would urge as many local businesses as possible to take advantage of this opportunity.
“Putting big business in touch with smaller businesses helps both to grow and this is a chance for the borough’s smaller firms to not only win contracts, but also to make contacts which could be useful for them in the future.”
Denise Rossiter, Chief Executive, Essex Chambers of Commerce added: “We are delighted to be holding this event for a second year in partnership with Thurrock Council giving local businesses the opportunity to do business with some of the major organisations in the Thurrock and South Essex area.
