FIRE Crews were called to a petrol station after fire broke out in an electrical cupboard at the Esso Service Station in Purfleet.
The incident occurred at 23.30 hrs on Monday evening (July 15th).
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used dry powder extinguishers to put out the fire.
Initially two appliances were sent to the scene, but the incident commander requested an additional appliance for extra breathing apparatus crews and an aerial ladder platform.
At 00:29 hrs, firefighters reported that the fire in the electrical cupboard appeared to be out and that crews were checking the property for further fire spread using a thermal image camera.
The incident was dealt with by 02:07 hrs.
A joint Fire Service and Police investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the incident.
