WINNERS
of a road safety competition were presented with their prizes on Monday (15 July) by the Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Tony Fish.
One winner from each of the 17 primary schools taking part in the pedestrian training scheme, organised by the council’s road safety team was chosen to get the goody bag prize.
Pedestrian training aims to prepare primary school pupils for Thurrock’s busy roads in an attempt to reduce the number of child casualties locally.
To assess how much a child has learned evaluation forms are given to every Year 6 pupil taking part in the scheme and a prize draw is made from every school.
The winners were at the Civic Offices in New Road, Grays, on Monday to be presented with their road safety bag by the mayor (photographed).
