ON Wednesday 31 July Thurrock branch of U3A held its monthly meeting at the Civic Hall, Grays.
Deputising for chairperson Maggie Whitbread, vice-chairperson Julia Harding announced that there were still places available for theatre shows.
She continued to announce that the August meeting, the annual party, would be starting at 11.00 until 2pm.
Group leaders were advised to book tables early to ensure that they would be able to display the work of their groups adequately.
The entertainment would be provided by a conjurer.
The speaker was John Debenham, who spoke about ‘Essex Tall Tales and Myths’
