Thurrock 3 v 2 Waltham Forest
By Bill Robinson
THREE ‘Clark’ goals was just enough to see off Waltham Forest but it was not all one way traffic as Thurrock were twice behind in a match that they were expected to win comfortably.
The visitors took the lead in the fourth minute when Richard Worrell slammed home a close range shot, Thurrock caught out on the back foot pushed on and eventually equalised in the 32nd minute when Robert Clark drove home a splendid low shot from the edge of the box.
The Visitors kept the Thurrock defence busy and forced keeper Reece Ottley into making a fine save again from Worrell.
Richard Worrell then put the finishing touches to a cross ball to put Forest back in front on 58minutes. Thurrock replied within 60 seconds this time with twin Lewis Clark forcing home the ball from close range.
The game was evenly balanced and could have gone either way but it was the home side that got the decisive winner on 77 minutes this time it was Jordan Clark who ran through and shot home from about 12 yards out.
A good win for Thurrock but a less than convincing victory against the bottom club.
