THE Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Tony Fish and Sue Bradish, were able to witness first hand the impact one community organisation is having on Thurrock residents, when they attended the One Community Development Trust Annual General Meeting last Wednesday.
It was an Annual General Meeting with a difference, as local people gave testimonials of the kinds of support they had received and the difference it had made to themselves and their families.
One Community is an independent, Tilbury-based, charity that aims to release local potential by supporting people with employability skills, money management, volunteering, training, housing issues and general information.
Honorary Chair, Yewande Kannike, said: “We really appreciated the Mayor and Mayoress taking time out of their busy schedules to spend it with us. Our volunteers who received certificates were thrilled to have their pictures taken with the Mayor.”
