NGAGE, the community organisation for Thurrock held a ‘Make a difference day’ event at the Foxglove estate in South Ockendon. The day was organised in October to support the CSV’s national ‘Make a difference’ the UK’s biggest month of voluntary action.
Princes Trust volunteers helped out with the ‘make a difference day’ as part of a community project. Annette Lewis, community worker for ngage said: “We had such a fabulous day and were overwhelmed with what was achieved. As well as giving the centre rose bushes a much needed pruning and weeding the giant tubs, volunteers litter picked the estate which included a Halloween litter pick scavenger hunt.
“Although It was raining most of the time, we received so many positive comments from the local residents that it made it all worthwhile. We would also like to thank Thurrock Councils Environmental Dept for all their support on the day”.
