HERTFORD Rugby Club ended their four match losing streak in National Three London and South East with a bonus point 27-10 victory over bottom of the table Thurrock at Hoe Lane on Saturday (November 2) reports The Hertfordshire Mercury.
The teams exchanged penalties early on, but Josh Corcoran eased Hertford’s nerves in the 21st minute when he went over for a try which was converted by Jack Mann.
Four minutes later Chris Joannou extended the advantage to 15-3 as Hertford began to assert their dominance.
The Hoe Lane faithful were in raptures as Michael Sargent stormed over the whitewash to take his side into a healthy 20-5 lead.
Returning skipper Luke Sloan secured the bonus point score, and with Mann converting it was 27-3 to Hertford with an hour of the game gone.
The hosts were unable to make any further impression on the scoreboard, with Thurrock having the final say as they scored a converted try with three minutes to go to cut the gap to 27-10.
