Blue could be the colour as Grays kids dream of Stamford Bridge

THE YOUNG GUNS OF Grays Athletic are just ninety minutes away from a dream tie with premier league giants, Chelsea.

But first Grays Ath have to take on a very strong Dartford FC in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

Win or lose it is testament to the developing foundations at the club.

Grays are the lowest ranked club remaining in the FA Youth Cup and it is an amazing testament to the club as they began the season with no ground.

Dartford FC, a Skrill Premier club are two levels higher in the footballing pyramid with strong youth sides

A spokesperson said: “The Young Blues are rewriting the history books and we hope the story doesn’t end on Thursday and we hope to see our fantastic supporters at Mill Field to help the side try and set up a Battle of the Blues!”

Kick off is at 7.45pm at Mill Field, Aveley.

  1. It’s a real testament to Andy Swallow who helped to save the Club in 2010 when we also lost the Recreation Ground to housing development.

If the Club can get its planned relocation into Grays and build new facilities for the youngsters in our area, it will be the catalyst many people associated with the Club have dreamed about for over 20 years.

Non League Clubs have to “grow their own” rather than try and compete in the increasingly expensive tranfser market.

    Come on you Blues!

  2. Such a shame we lost 3-2, as the comment above says, if we can achieve this in our current situation, just think of the opportunities we could provide to local youngsters if we had solid foundations and a permanent base back in our home town.
