SHADOW Conservative health spokesperson, cllr Shane Hebb has expressed his delight at reports of improvements at Basildon Hospital.
Cllr Hebb said:
“It would appear that after this Summer’s shocking revalations about Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital’s past performance and mortality rates, that things look like they may be turning a corner”
“It was a big shock for us as local residents at just how bad the hospital had been performing, with one criticism focusing on a minority negative workplace culture and poor process control. It would now appear that the new leadership team and a newly engaged workforce are aware of what needs to be done to turn this ship around and get things back in order”.
“The next question, is how recorded progress is sustained. Clearly more remains to be done, but Rome wasn’t built in a day either. News that our hospital may be turning a big corner could be a good Christmas present to the people of Thurrock indeed! Let’s hope Christmas 2014 is full of even-happier news about our hospitals performance!”.
