AN AVELEY man took on the world of consonants and vowels as he competed in an episode of popular Channel 4 quiz show, Countdown.
Danny Davey took on a very skilful Bobby Banerjee who had already won a couple of rounds.
But despite winning a couple of rounds, Danny was defeated 94-11.
Danny took defeat in good heart. When presenter, Nick Hewer handed him the consolation prizes that included a dictionary, Danny said: “I might have to read that!”
Danny’s performance made quite an impression on Twitter with stars such as Soccer AM’s Max Rushden and even the political correspondent of the Jewish Chronicle, Marcus Dysch passing comment.
