POLICE want to identify a man caught on CCTV at the time that a quantity of petrol was stolen from an Asda filling station at Thurrock Park Way in Tilbury.
The theft happened at around 9.45am on Thursday January 2. A man pulled up at the station in a green Ford Focus and filled the car with more than £50 of petrol but then left the premises without making any attempt to pay.
Initial enquiries have established that the car was fitted with stolen number plates and police would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man or who has any other information about the theft.
The suspect is believed to have been wearing a wig.
