AS WE were about to write this news item, a tweet popped up from a Thurrock Council officer who exclaimed: “Twenty five minutes to get out of East Tilbury. Better access really needed.”
The issue of traffic problems created, exacerbated and exhausted by the combination of the level crossing in East Tilbury plus the prospect of an increase in housing is a daunting prospect for many.
Recently, YT went down to East Tilbury to speak to local resident, Ivor Wall about why he feels a road over the rail-line is vital. Infact, Ivor not only feels it is vital, he feels it is a matter of life and death.
I can’t see a bridge happening in my lifetime. The overall cost, and the length of a road bridge needed.
…but not one over the Thames or to Canvey Island.
