THERE WAS rush hour chaos tonight (Tuesday) when trains were delayed after a signal failure between Upminster and Pitsea.
C2C services in and out of Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness were delayed and cancelled after the problem occured just before 5pm.
Buses were ordered for journeys to West Horndon, Laindon and Basildon from Upminster/Pitsea.
Tickets were being accepted on Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria.
Crowd control measures were also put in at Fenchurch Street to control the amount of people going into the station.
The line was cleared and reopened by 6pm with services slowly getting back to normal.
