Four charged over Ship Lane burglaries

THREE men have appeared in court today charged in connection with a burglary which happened in Aveley.

On February 5 at around 4.10pm a house in Ship Lane was broken in to and several items including three Apple Mac laptops stolen.

The following day three men were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods after police attended Kushty’s Off Licence in St Chad’s Road, Tilbury.

Sami Kilic, 30, of St Chad’s Road, was charged with handling stolen goods while the other two were released without charge.

A search of the off licence between police and HMRC resulted in the seizure of suspected counterfeit vodka, wine and nappies.

Further enquiries led to the arrest of three other men at the Lakeside Retail Park, also on February 6. Kenny Bulmer, 18, of Martin Road, Aveley, Jay Cartwright, 25, of Haig Road, Chadwell St Mary, and Mark Bulmer, 20, of no fixed address, were all charged with one count of burglary with intent to steal.

All four appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court this morning, Saturday, February 8, and were remanded in custody to appear at crown court on May 3.
