POLICE would like to hear from anyone with information about a burglary which took place at F1 Karting Limited off Motherwell Way in Grays just before 11.55pm on Saturday February 1. Thieves smashed through a brick wall at the rear of the premises to get in, activating an alarm in the process. They then removed a safe, which was ripped from its bolts in the floor, from the premises.
It is likely that more than one person would have been required to move the safe, which had contained several thousand pounds, and a vehicle would also have been needed. More than £3,000 worth of damage was caused during the raid. The safe has not been recovered.
Anyone with information about the break-in or who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time is asked to call PC Stuart Rawlings at Grays Police Station on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
