AT the Thurrock Arts Council (TAC) meeting on Monday February 25th, Peggy Randle, on her retirement, was given the honour of becoming Vice President.
Peggy was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by duel acting chairmen, Vic Gray and Mike Rawlinson. This was given in recognition of her work for the TAC.
Peggy was Secretary of the TAC for 25 years and also the vice chairman for over twenty years. Seven years of this was spent on arranging the TAC marquee at the Orsett Show (no mean feat) and has spent twenty five years as the sub-committee chairman for the Visual Arts.
Peggy began her career by teaching art. In 2003, at the Bridge Road Adult Centre, she started a class for a Thurrock Society for Artists with Disabilities. This is a subject dear to her heart. This is all done a on a voluntary basis and all the implements required for the artists are supplied at no extra cost.
Peggy, as she is no longer as young as when she began this project, is beginning to need some help. This is a really worthy cause and an opportunity for someone with a love of painting to offer their services to give a helping hand.
All at the TAC wish Peggy good luck for the future.
