THIS fantastic opportunity is open to new mums of any age who live in Thurrock.
To participate mums should be a minimum of 6-weeks after giving birth and have approval from their GP or medical specialist. All participants will need to complete medical declaration.
Preferably their baby is not yet able to crawl and mum will have her own stroller/pushchair.
Participation will be FREE to the service user.
The launch is on Friday 7 March 10:00 to 11:30 at the Belhus Village Hall, Daiglen Drive, South Ockendon RM15 5AE. The sessions will then run twice weekly until end of June.
Mondays afternoons 13:30 to 14:30 at the Ockendon Centre, Derry Avenue, South Ockendon RM15 5DX and Fridays 10:00 to 11:30 Belhus Village Hall.
Each session will contain;: Strollercise – Mother with baby perform a sequence of exercises to raise energy levels and tone muscles.
Mother and Infant Yoga – Mother with baby perform relaxing yoga postures and breathing exercises specifically to improve; posture, reduce back pain, tone muscles, improve functional mobility and reduce stress hormone production. · Health education and social interaction – looking at routine, lifestyle change, diet and nutrition.
Opportunity to network with other Mums in similar circumstances for mutual support.
We would also be looking to invite community organisations and specialists as guest speakers. Maximum benefit is gained by regular participation and places are limited.
Fridays at the Belhus village hall – 16 participants Mondays at the Ockendon centre – 10 participants .
