POLICE want to hear from any witnesses to a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a red Ford Explorer car which took place just before 6.40pm on Monday March 17.
Police were notified that the collision had occurred at the Stifford Interchange, on Stifford Clays Road, in Thurrock. It is believed the cyclist was attempting to cross the road when he was in collision with the vehicle.
Ambulance paramedics also attended at the scene and a 29-year-old man was initially taken to Basildon Hospital for treatment. He was subsequently transferred to Royal London Hospital for further treatment for serious injuries which are potentially life changing.
Any witnesses to the collision who have not yet been spoken to are asked to call PC Natalie Collingridge at Chigwell Police Station on 101.
Every pedestrian and cyclist risks their life trying to cross that junction because of the high speed of the vehicle traffic.
