NEWLY formed regional fundraising group for Breast Cancer Campaign called ‘Simply the Breast’ raised just over £1500 at a recent coffee & shopping morning held in the Village Hall in Horndon on the Hill.
The ten committee members joined forces from all over Thurrock in January this year and have been busy planning events for 2014.
The group was put together by Andrea Nunnery and Nancy Smith who raised £11,500 trekking the Grand Canyon in October 2013 and wanted to continue raising money & awareness of Breast Cancer for the charity and to have fun fundraising.
Their next event a ‘Burlesque for Breasts’ ladies night will be held on Saturday 22nd March at The Phoenix Bar at Club Kingswood.
The evening will be hosted by Keri Graham’s Burlesque Diva’s who many of you may remember from Britain’s Got Talent. The evening will involve a burlesque workshop, Burlesque show and disco. Simply the Breast said ‘We are delighted to have received such wonderful support from both Club Kingswood’s Phoenix Bar & Keri Graham’s Burlesque Divas and are looking forward to a fun event’.
Raffle prize donations include tickets to see the West End Show The Bodyguard & a night out at The Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square.
Andrea said “I want to try and raise as much money as possible so that it will help people, including my own Sister and Mother in Law, to hopefully beat this disease for good. I am really proud to be raising money for Campaign as I know that every penny I raise will go towards helping the charity fund vital breast cancer research.”
