“SIMPLY THE BREAST”, Thurrock’s regional fundraising group for Breast Cancer Campaign hosted a fabulously fun and flamboyant Burlesque event on Saturday 22nd March and raised £1046 for the charity. The evening was hosted by Keri Graham from The Diamonte Dolls and took place at Club Kingswood’s The Phoenix Bar. The ladies only event included a Burlesque show by Keri, who you may remember for Britain’s Got Talent, a workshop with all the ladies learning a sizzling Burlesque routine, followed by dancing the night away to disco classics.
Raffle prizes included tickets to see the West End Show ‘The Bodyguard’ donated by Beverley Knight after two of the committee bumped into the lead in London. The Hippodrome Casino in London’s Leicester Square also donated a night out at their venue including a meal for two with drinks.
Keri Graham from The Diamonte Dolls said; It was a fantastic evening!! I thoroughly enjoyed DJ’ing & teaching a Burlesque workshop for this event in aid of a very worthy cause. There was an impressive turn out where it was lovely to see everyone having fun & really enjoying my booty shaking cheeky routine. I was that impressed with the ladies that I’ve invited them all to be part of my Burlesque troupe The Diamonte Dolls! Who knows maybe next year we could enter Britain’s Got Talent!!’
