“Have a Go” day at Palmer’s College

IF you’ve thought about being a Physiotherapist, Personal Trainer, PE teacher, Sports Coach or even a Sports Reporter – then this your chance to ‘Have a Go’!!

Palmer’s College is hosting a ‘Have a Go’ Community event in support of World Skills UK. The community event provides an opportunity to try out new skills across a range of different sporting careers.

The event is being held on Friday 25 April 2014 at the Palmer’s Sports and Fitness Centre from 4.30-7.30pm and is open to anyone aged 11-16 years. To book your free place all you need to do is visit: or call 01375 898626.

The event is this year being supported by the Essex Enquirer and Stubbers Activity and Adventure Centre. There will be six different bite-size taster sessions on offer – these include: being a Physiotherapist, Personal Trainer, Sports Coach, Fitness Instructor, PE teacher and a Sports Reporter.

Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer’s College said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a sports related career to come along and find out what it would be like – you can literally ‘Have a Go’ and, best of all, it is free.”

WorldSkills ‘Have a Go’ is part of WorldSkills UK and enables a fun, interactive, engaging way of getting people involved across the UK whilst learning a new skill. It offers a great way to ignite a passion to learn, and to provide expert information, advice and support needed to get on at work and in careers.
