Palmer’s College is hosting a ‘Have a Go’ Community event in support of World Skills UK. The community event provides an opportunity to try out new skills across a range of different sporting careers.
The event is being held on Friday 25 April 2014 at the Palmer’s Sports and Fitness Centre from 4.30-7.30pm and is open to anyone aged 11-16 years. To book your free place all you need to do is visit: palmershaveago.eventbrite.co.uk or call 01375 898626.
The event is this year being supported by the Essex Enquirer and Stubbers Activity and Adventure Centre. There will be six different bite-size taster sessions on offer – these include: being a Physiotherapist, Personal Trainer, Sports Coach, Fitness Instructor, PE teacher and a Sports Reporter.
Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer’s College said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a sports related career to come along and find out what it would be like – you can literally ‘Have a Go’ and, best of all, it is free.”
WorldSkills ‘Have a Go’ is part of WorldSkills UK and enables a fun, interactive, engaging way of getting people involved across the UK whilst learning a new skill. It offers a great way to ignite a passion to learn, and to provide expert information, advice and support needed to get on at work and in careers.
Participants are advised to wear suitable clothing and registration will take place from 4pm. The College’s award-winning Careers Team will be at hand to offer advice and guidance. More information is available by visiting: www.palmers.ac.uk/sport
