THIS was a bad day at the office for Thurrock as they went down 2-1 to Waltham Abbey at Cappershaw Stadium.
It also got worse for them a stop scorer, David Knight was sent off late into the second half.
Goals by Christian Wheeler and Thomas Bruno put Thurrock to the sword.
The result leaves the Fleet in fifth place in the league but still absolutely in the thick of the promotion battle.
They now have nine games to play in 25 days. The games are all against teams below them and so there will be a great push to cement a play off place.
