A WEST Thurrock company is planning to expand and create 21 jobs thanks to the TIGER fund.
Ashby & Croft of Oliver Road is expanding its innovative modular building systems and the TIGER funds will help create new yard surfaces to expand the operational areas; a new security office; and new lighting to provide a more secure site – especially at night.
TIGER offers interest-free loans to businesses investing in new products and services, and creating long-term job opportunities.
The £20 million fund – £4.2 million targeted at Thurrock businesses – is financed through the government’s Regional Growth Fund.
Cllr Andy Smith, Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration and growth, said: “This £109,700 loan has given this forward-looking company the chance to increase its investment in Thurrock, bringing new jobs and enhancing the local economy.
“This is just yet another example showing how Thurrock is open for business and how hard the council works to support innovation and local companies.
“Great news for West Thurrock and Thurrock as a whole.”
Andy Michael Anthony, Financial Controller at Ashby & Croft (pictured with Cllr Smith), added: “The funding we’ve received from TIGER, along with our own investment, will enable us to grow our business and create local jobs.”
Applications for TIGER funding interest-free loans are welcome from all sectors and free support is available to help businesses with the pre-application and full application process.
