THIS year is the 30th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week and it’s time to celebrate!
Last year was hugely successful thanks to organisations who took part. Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK – and it’s taking place from the 1-7 June 2014.
Volunteer Centre Thurrock will be saying a big thank you to all the people who currently volunteer in Thurrock and want to encourage Thurrock organisations who use volunteers to recognise the valuable contribution that their volunteers are making, and ensure that they also say a big thank you.
Laura Hudson, volunteer coordinator for Volunteer centre Thurrock said “To help celebrate volunteering we will be at the South Ockendon Centre (Belhus Library) on 5th June between 9.30am and 12pm, and the newly launched Chadwell St Mary Centre at Chadwell Library on 5th June between 10am-12.30pm. We hope people pop down to see us and have a chat about volunteering over a cup of tea and some cake”.
“Volunteers can make such a difference to groups and organisations in Thurrock and
It’s important that volunteers are recognised for their contribution. To support Volunteer Week, Volunteer Centre Thurrock and
Thurrock CVS are saying thank you to the volunteers who support our organisations by inviting them to a Mad Hatters Tea party. We want to encourage other organisations and groups to say a big thank you to theirs by awarding certificates, buying lunch, or even taking their volunteers out”.
