Rotary club of Thurrock Gateway celebrate second charter night

rotary22THE Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway celebrated its 2nd Charter Night on Saturday 21st June at The Manor Hotel in Rainham.

Around 75 Guests, a mixture of Thurrock Rotary Club Members and their families, as well as several other local Rotary Clubs, including six members of Dagenham Rotary Club.

The evening began with drinks on arrival and guests were welcomed by President Karen Sayers-Irving before being seated for the Black Tie Dinner. After a delicious three course dinner with copious amounts of fine wines the guests settled down for the speeches…

President Karen was presented with a certificate for the club from ‘Rotary International’ for the ‘Membership Development and Extension Award’ by District Governor Peter Dowse.

Vice President Claire Jane Pavitt also presented President Karen with an engraved Decanter and glasses to commemorate her Presidential year.

A big thank you to youngster Monika Jones who raised £50 at our charter night making ‘loopy bracelets’ in aid of Presidents charity Thurrock Mind. A Future Rotarian in the making…

The speeches over, the rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away with final drinks in the Bar for those left standing…
