Two more convert to synagogue

ONsynagog Shabbat 14th June 2014, the congregation was blessed with two more ladies being formally admitted as Jewesses by Rabbi Sandra Kviat.

Jennifer Brizman, who, with husband Alon have been active members of Tikvah Chadasha for four and a half years decided that the time was right for her to “take the plunge” and convert within the community she feels so at home with. So after diligently attending lessons where deputy head teacher Jennifer became the pupil, Jennifer successfully went before the Beit Din on 12th June.

On the same day, Charmaine Hasson, who along with husband Tomer have been members for 18 months also successfully went to the Beit Din on 12th June. After 9 years of marriage, Charmaine began her journey at Weybridge Reform a little over three years ago. However, in January 2013 the family joined Tikvah Chadasha where Charmaine decided to continue and finish her journey towards Judaism.

As a small congregation, we feel honoured that that in our short existence, thus far, five people have successfully completed our excellent conversion programme. As we continue to grow, we hope that this trend continues. We of course welcome all members in mixed faith relationships equally. Indeed we have been told our welcoming, inclusive ethos is our greatest strength. Long may it continue.
