TINA Boreham is a local Community Fundraiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind and is looking for helpers to be part of the new fundraising group in Thurrock. Tina says “The local group will be made up of volunteers from the area who get together to help spread awareness about Guide Dogs and raise vital funds for the charity. We have been looking for helpers for some time to help us plan our activities to help raise as much money as we can for Guide Dogs and to improve awareness. This could involve booking a stand at local fetes through to organising a quiz night”
Guide Dogs is looking for volunteers to come and help at events, as well as a coordinator to take a lead on organising events. We are also looking for puppy walkers in the area, so if you are interested in finding out more about these roles, please do get in touch.
Lorna Copland from Guide Dogs said: “Volunteering is hugely rewarding. Not only do you know you are helping make a positive difference to the lives of visually impaired people, it is also a great way to get involved with and meet others in your community. Whatever time you can spare to help would be greatly appreciated. You don’t need any previous experience to volunteer with us; just a willingness to help out and get involved with your community.”
Anyone interested in volunteering for Guide Dogs is invited to get in touch by emailing email@example.com or phoning 07500 123 775.
