TWO Thurrock parents have been successfully prosecuted at Basildon Magistrates Court for failing to ensure that their children attended school regularly.
The mother of a Year 10 pupil was fined £110, with costs of £120 and victim surcharge of £20.
A father of a Year 8 pupil was fined £200, with costs of £110 and victim surcharge of £20. The court heard the case in his absence.
A court order prevents the identification of the parents or the schools involved.
