Two men sought after man robbed in car

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Grays.

Three men assaulted a man who had been sat in a red Renault Megane on Argent Street near Wouldham Road at 11pm on Friday, June 27 and stole the car keys, paperwork and a starter motor.

A few hours later, Mark Harding was arrested and charged with one count of robbery. The 41-year-old unemployed man from Argent Street in the town was detained in police custody prior to his appearance at Basildon Magistrates Court on Monday, June 30. He was remanded in court custody prior to his appearance at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, October 3.

The car owner, a 30-year-old local man, was treated at the scene by paramedics after sustaining a number of cuts and bruises to his face.

Officers are looking to identify and trace the two other men involved in this robbery. They are described as black, approximately 5ft 7ins tall and were wearing sports jumpers.

Anyone with information in connection with this robbery is urged to contact detectives at Grays police station on 101.
