Ava, 6, from Shaw Primary Academy School, South Ockenden was the winner of a Beat the Street giant cookie created by Millie’s Cookies, Lakeside. The walking champion’s lucky number came up when she tapped on a Beat Box which released one of the game’s spot prizes.
Beat the Street Thurrock players are showing they are no slouches when it comes to striding the borough’s streets. They have clocked up over 50,000 miles, twice the original target, and still have nearly two weeks before the game ends.
Points will be given a boost on Friday 11 July when Trevor Rawson of Tai Chi for Health (Essex) begins his own personal challenge at midnight. He will be tapping Thurrock’s 104 Beat Boxes in one session by walking, jogging and cycling a distance of 67 miles. Trevor’s chosen charity is Sugarloaf Riding for the Disabled.
Other spot prize winners this week have walked away with: Proctor and Gamble hampers worth £150; Body Shop foot spas; one month learning at Explore Learning Lakeside; and Partyman family vouchers.
The Beat the Street Thurrock team will be at Sainsbury’s, Chafford Hundred on Saturday 12 July with an extra Beat Box to help you raise your points, or join the game.
