THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE of the Royal Opera House, Alex Beard CBE turned the turf at the new costume workshop at the High House Production Park in Purfleet.

Flanked by chief exec of Thurrock Council, Graham Farrant and principal of South Essex College, Angela O’Donoghue, Mr Beard told the assembled guests that this was another significant moment for Thurrock and the partnership.

Principal and Chief Executive of South Essex College, Angela O’Donoghue said: “Since High House Production Park first opened in Thurrock, we’ve enjoyed a really good relationship and this is now another wonderful opportunity to work together.

“For our students to work from within the same building as the Royal Opera House team, to learn directly from world class practitioners, is an unrivalled opportunity. We’re really looking forward to sharing the building and working together.

“Complemented by our new £45 million Thurrock campuscostume in Grays town centre, we are thrilled to be helping to develop more state of the art facilities that the community in Thurrock deserves.”
