High Roding 135-5
Thurrock slipped to defeat by five wickets away to High Roding.
THE visitors batted first but were bowled out for only 132 from 38 overs. Top scorer Daniel Laird (39) and Danny Crow (22) were the only batsman to score anything of note. High Roding bowled very well as a unit as Travis Hussain bowled an excellent 4-33 from his 12 over spell while Mel Hussain picked up two wickets from nine overs and conceding only 10 runs.
Any score under 150 is a tall order to defend, especially in the Premier Division. But Thurrock battled to the very end and captured five High Roding wickets with Clarke Wren and Bilal Qureshi claiming two wickets apiece, with Rob Neal getting the other wicket to fall. However, the runs were chased down in the 30th over as Thurrock were condemned to their fifth league defeat of the season which leaves them fifth in the table.
