AS the £9 million Food Court refurbishment at intu Lakeside nears completion, designer footwear and clothing store Footasylum has joined the centre, with L’Occitane and Hugo Boss relocating and signing new leases. Footasylum has opened next to lolaandgrace on level two, L’Occitane has moved to a new location opposite the Champagne bar and Hugo Boss will re-open in its new level two location later this month.
Kate Miller, General Manager (Operations) for intu Lakeside, comments, “We have invested £9million to deliver a fantastic new Food Court and Champagne bar, as a backdrop for premium brands who want to take advantage of this fantastic shopping environment. We are targeting specific luxury retailers in this area of the mall and expect to make further announcements shortly.”
intu Lakeside has recently signed eight new restaurants for its level three Food Court, many of which have begun opening their doors with more to follow throughout the summer. They include Harpers British Classics, Tortilla, Wasabi, Gino D’Acampo’s My Pasta Bar, Thai Express, Five Guys, Nando’s and Patisserie Valerie.
Planning has been granted for a £100m leisure quarter at intu Lakeside, which will see the arrival of further catering names, as well as leisure uses such as family entertainment venues and health and fitness facilities.
In addition, intu also received outline planning consent last year for a £180 million expansion of its retail offer, enabling it to expand retail space by a further 40 units to meet the demand from brands wanting a place in the centre.
