LANGDON Hills Country Park is hosting family-friendly and free bicycle rides every month until the winter offering a great way to see the countryside up close.
The monthly rides are led by Thurrock Council’s Rangers and follow cycle paths across the Country Park and surrounding land.
People can join the Rangers on Saturday, 2 August; Saturday, 13 September; and Saturday, 11 October, meeting at the One Tree Hill Information Room and Car Park, (SS17 9NH) at 2pm. The rides are approximately two to two-and-a-half hours long and suitable for all ages.
July’s event (5 July) also included a Dr Bike session of free bike checks, maintenance, and security marking as part of the Travel Thurrock campaign encouraging people to travel in healthier, more environmentally-friendly and economic ways.
Dr Bike will also be visiting other locations: Saturday, 2 August, Corringham Town Centre (Springhouse Road opposite St John’s Church), 9am to 3pm; Wednesday, 6 August, Stanford-le-Hope (corner of Scratton Road and Southend Road), 9am to 3pm – both provided with the support of the Thurrock Re-Use Partnership.
