AN illegal encampment of gypsy-travellers in Chadwell St Mary have defied an order from the police to move on.
The group have been in Claudian Way, Chadwell for several days now.
On Tuesday, Essex Police attended at the site and gave them a notice to move on.
Three days later they are still there and appear to be in no hurry to move on.
The Essex Council Traveller Unit (ECTU) on behalf of Essex Police is set to go to court on July 29th and apply for another eviction notice.
The problem of illegal encampments has become endemic over the summer. The ECTU, when asked, say they have no idea why this year is different from other years.
The ECTU appear to be a waste of public money.
These people are above the law, and always will be!
