OFSTED has delivered a glowing report on the Grays Baptist pre-school in Orsett Road, Grays.
The pre-school felt that a report last year that put them in special measures was a harsh judgement but since then they have worked tirelessly to address the recommendations in the 2013 report.
The report highlights a number of positive aspects of the pre-school.
The report states:
1. Children are making good progress due to the effective questioning and positive engagement from staff. Therefore, the quality of teaching is good.
2. Children are busy, interested and wanting to know more. Staff cleverly direct the level of teaching for individual children according to their stage of development.
3.Children are safeguarded well. Staff support children’s understanding of keeping themselves safe through everyday activities and play situations.
4.Parents/carers and other agencies play an important role in supporting children’s development and welfare. Staff work closely with them to provide a consistent approach to children’s learning and care.
5.Children’s emotional well-being is supported particularly well because the effective key- person system helps children to settle, become independent and confident.
