THE  Gateway  Academy  is  celebrating  another  year  of  successful  GCSE results. Â

Many  students  have  opened  their  results  envelope  to  find  that  they  had  achieved  the  key  Government  standard  of  a  minimum  of  5  A*-‐‑C  passes  including  English  and  Maths.  Those  achieving  5  or more  passes overall,  was  an  impressive  92%  of  all  Year  11  students.  Â

The  Gateway  Learning  Community  Chief  Executive,  Kevin  Sadler  said:  “We  are  so  proud  of  what  the  students  have  achieved  at  The  Gateway  Academy,  particularly  when  you  look  at  the  progress  they have  made  since  they  joined  us.  Â

"Many  started  below  the  expected  level  in Year  7  and  are  now  competing  with  students  from  far  more  privileged backgrounds.  Â

"These  results  will  provide  more  students  than  ever  before  with  the  opportunity  to  undertake  further  study  at  local  colleges  and  sixth  forms,  and  eventually  to  go  to  University.  We  are  delighted  that  so  many  of  our  students  have  done  so  very  well.”  Â

The  Gateway  Academy  is  now  a  partner  within  the  Gateway  Learning Community  [GLC]  which  incorporates  5  local  schools  with  the  mission  to transform  its  community  by  working  together  to  provide  the  best educational  provision  for  all  young  people.  The  Gateway  Academy  is  recognised  by  the Specialist  Schools  and  Academies Trust  as  one  of  the UK’s  most  improved  schools.
