Football: Tilbury boss Paul Vaughan steps down as manager

TILBURY Chairman Danny Nash has tonight announced that Paul Vaughan has stepped down as first team manager of Tilbury FC and will now oversee all levels of football at the club.

Paul Vaughan had been entering his fifth season as manager and will be remembered for getting his side to 3rd place in 2011/12 when his side lost 4-3 to Needham Market in a thrilling play off semi final.

The club have brought in two young managers who are hungry for success. Current midfielder Gary Henty who has played over 100 times for the club and Tilbury stalwart Danny Smith who has played over 150 games for the club will be joint managers with immediate effect.

Joining the coaching staff is George Young who has been assistant manager of our reserve side and has also previously played for the club.

Mr Nash said "Paul has been a good manager for the club and took the side to great heights three years ago. Paul will remain a big part of the club and will oversee the new management"

The club thank Paul for his continuing hard work and welcome Gary, Danny and George to the club and will support the new management team.
