THE residents of Kynoch Court, Billet Lane, Stanford Le Hope were presented with a collection of goodies on Saturday 4th October from the boys and girls of Stanford Rugby Club.
Amongst the hamper of food was; Tea, biscuits, tins of soup, a few bottles of wine and much more, all of which the residents were very glad to receive.
Sean Cochrane and Lorraine Maher who organised the collection on behalf of Stanford RFC were on hand to deliver the items along with representatives from some of the teams. “Harvest Festival as a tradition seems to have died off over the years. We wanted to do something for our local community and Kynoch Court are neighbours of the recreation grounds were Stanford play so it seemed like a good idea to make this small offering from the players and their families”, said Sean
A few of the residents were on hand to receive the donation and were very grateful to the boys and girls. One of the residents Ken Stanley said thank you on behalf of everyone and that it was a very lovely offering and one which they shall all enjoy in the coming weeks and months. He went onto say that the residents often love to watch the boys and girls training and playing on the sports fields and encouraged them to keep up their hard work and have fun doing sport.
Stanford RFC are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year and as a way of celebrating their past and future hope to do more for the residents over the coming year and beyond.
